For fans of: Modern Baseball, Sorority Noise, The Front Bottoms
Daddy and the Long Legs is an emo/punk three piece from Ypsilanti Michigan. The band picks up where vocalist and guitarist Marco Aziel's solo work left off: steering the audience through existential crises, conflicted love stories, and stupid adolescent shenanigans. Only this time, there's a lot more headbanging.
Aziel and Travis “Daddy” Anderson (bass, vocals) had previously played as an acoustic duo. In January 2016, while Anderson was taking a break, Collin "The Long Legs" McCoy (drums) and Aziel moved into the rehearsal space where the then-solo artist would write and record his last album, "I Wrote This To A Ghost". Anderson's return would mark the birth of Daddy and the Long Legs.
The trio hit the ground running, making its debut in DIY fashion at an Ypsilanti American Legion hall. A summer full of DIY and house shows included dates at the Blind Pig (Ann Arbor) and the Crofoot (Pontiac), and ended with a small midwest tour.
Their first release, "Smoke Breaks", a standalone single for fans of The Front Bottoms and Modern Baseball, became an instant singalong at local shows.
Travis, Marco, and Collin look forward to an EP release and a spring tour in 2017.
